Monthly Social – Global Development

NOTE – This is a different pub with a basement that also happens to be called Christopher- but is in Borough not Chancery Lane.

In 2017 nearly 800 million people were living under the international poverty line and each year millions of these people die from preventable diseases. This immense suffering is preventable but neglected – OECD governments spend on average just 0.32% of their GDP on foreign aid.

The topic this month is global development, we’ll be talking about potential organisations to give to and work/volunteer with as well as general trends in international development over the last decade and where to go to learn more and stay up to date.

This is an informal social event so expect lots of conversations with different people over a wide range of topics. Below are some useful resources for learning more about global development
