Monthly Social – Giving with Heart and Head

August 15 at 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

HOW do we choose where to give?

HOW can we use our heart and head together to choose charities we care about?

DOES giving whilst caring about impact move us to be more altruistic?

Come join us for our monthly social where we’ll be looking at these questions and more. There will be drinks, conversations, free t-shirts and books and lots of people who care about doing good in the world.

One quote on this topic that has resonated is “the brain and the heart meeting halfway”. We should be thinking about impact when deciding where to donate, but at the same time, getting rid of empathy would probably lead us to donating less or not at all.

NEWCOMERS always welcome
We have super friendly people and interesting discussions about assorted topics. Bring any questions you may have about how to effectively make a significant positive difference to the world we will do our best to answer them or least point you to the best resources.

LOCATION
We’ll be downstairs with a sign on the table. If you have any trouble finding us call David on 07949936212.

EFFECTIVE ALTRUISM is applying reason and evidence to the goal of improving the world, with the aim of doing the most good we can.
